Mission
The mission of the Boyd School of Law is to serve the State of Nevada and the national and international legal and academic communities by developing and maintaining an innovative and excellent educational program that will train ethical and effective lawyers and leaders for Nevada and for the legal profession; to stress community service, professionalism and the roles, responsibilities, skills, and values of lawyers; to produce excellent scholarship for the benefit of the State, the profession, and the academy; to involve students and faculty in community service projects in ways that will benefit our State; and to provide leadership for Nevada on important issues of public policy, dispute resolution, the law and legal practice. In seeking to fulfill this mission, the Boyd School of Law aspired to become a model community, one in which the people of the law school will deal with one another professionally, respectfully, and with a view to maximizing the potential of each participant in this exciting educational enterprise.

Application and requirements
- a completed application form;
- a $50 non-refundable application fee;
- a résumé including educational background, work experience, honors, and community service activities;
- a personal statement no longer than three typed pages (double-spaced, 12-point font);
- a current LSAC Credential Assembly Service report including copies of transcripts from all schools attended;
- at least one letter of recommendation from an individual who has supervised the applicant in an academic or employment setting. Academic letters are preferred. Letters of recommendation may be submitted by applicants via the CAS Letter of Recommendation Service (preferred), or by the recommender directly to the Boyd School of Law Office of Admissions.
- In addition to these materials, all part-time applicants must submit a brief statement describing the reasons why they are applying to either of the part-time programs.
Applicants for Admission
- have earned an undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year college or university;
- have taken the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). The test is given in June, October, December, and February In order to ensure full consideration of their application, applicants are encouraged to take the LSAT by December (although it is possible to take the February LSAT and complete an application in a timely manner).

How it applies- We haven't really talked about law school in class other than what is expected. I do know that every chapter we are learning about is going to somehow be applied to law school. For instance chapter 3 goes into detail about crimes while chapter 4 really goes into detail on the process of the law the different types of law and how the way they work.
